Mash Tuns include a false bottom and a high quality 3" Brew-Zone Custom Brewing thermometer All SS. The 18-gauge stainless steel false-bottom features a perforation of 3/32 holes on 5/32 centers. This is considered standard commercial sizing. If the perforation is larger, you get too much grain husk material falling through. If the perforation is smaller you risk stuck mashes when using flaked grains or high percentages of wheat - especially when using a pump to recirculate the mash. A Stainless Steel ball valve is also included.

Some people are clueless...
I own this product from HomeBrewStuff without the false bottom as I use a cooler as my mash tun and not a kettle for the heat retention capabilities. I must say however, the individual that wrote the elaborate story about wanting to be a moonshine runner (my grandfather was one during the prohibition) is an clueless. Those wanting to use this as a mash tun for its intended use as a "beer" mash tun will do quite well and beyond their intentions. As a device for moon-shining, it will quite well exceed its intended uses as well if you have the slightest clue how to do so (I've done it all).
