Nice pot but could be better
This is a double walled stainless steel unit, but it is not vacuum insulated. I confirmed this with the sales team at Frieling.com. This unit gets very warm on the outside so heat escapes during brewing process. Because of the deep inset of the pouring spout the vessel cannot be filled to the top as coffee grinds escape above the filter if filled to the top. When brewing coffee the top 2 inches of the container cannot be filled with water. However, the stated capacity of 44 oz is right at where you want to fill it for coffee brewing. If you are using it to hold other liquids, it can fill a bit more. Cover does not rotate to block the spout so the heat escapes there during brewing through the spout as well. Like another reviewer mentioned, the cover does not stay put when pouring hot coffee. It is only held in place by the rod which attaches it to the filter which itself is held by friction between its self and the inside walls of the unit. So when pouring the cover starts to...
