GE Warranty is Worthless
I finally had to replace my GE Spacemaker microwave after over ten years of good service. The replacement lasted only about two months before it stopped working. I read the instruction booklet and verified that it was fully warranted for both parts and service. But the warranty repair or replacement is free of cost only if you bring it in to a GE service center. When I called GE they told me they don't have any service centers, but they could send a service rep out to my house for a $100 charge. What kind of warranty is that?

Fortunately I bought it from Amazon and they very politely offered to take it back, without shipping charges. I told them I had already thrown out the box and packing materials. They expedited delivery of a new one so I'd have the new box to return the defective one in. Not only that, I was able to save a few dollars since they refunded the full purchase price of $230 and the price had since been reduced to $205. Now that's what I call customer...
